Lower back pain is the common health
problem in both sexes male and female. It is identified by dull or sharp pain
in the lower part of the spine. Low back problems affect the spine’s
flexibility. This causes constraint in the body movement and work capacity,
making life miserable and low-spirited.
Ayurveda , calls this state as ‘Kati
Shoola’, Kati refers to ‘low back’ and Shoola refers to ‘pain’.

Therapy
This
Therapy is very effective in back pain or joints pain, vita disorders and
anemia. The process involves oleation
of the body by using medicated oil and ghee externally and internally. External
Application of the oils in the form of massage is called Bahya and internal consumption of medicated oil and ghee is called Abhyantra
Procedure
- A day before therapy liquid food should be taken like soups.
- On the day of therapy medicated oil is advised early morning empty stomach.
After completion
of Snehana therapy, the next stage is swedana

Swedana (sudation)
Swedana involves avagaha sweda (sweating treatment with tub bath),
pizichil (kayaseka), nadi sweda (sudation through a tubular device – local
sudation), panda sweda (sudation through medicated paste or powder).

Mridu Samshodhana
This is known as mild purgation. It is a
natural way of releasing amma (toxins) from the body tissues. Abhaganya
treatment is used for loosening
toxins from the body cells.

Basti
Basti (medicated
enema) like eranda basti, vaitarana basti cleanses the accumulated body toxins.
It is highly beneficial and rejuvenating treatment.
